TOWNSEND - Family members of a Townsend couple who were murdered in 1995 by Diana Lewis say they are disgusted by a judge's decision to let her out of Warm Springs.
Lewis' attorney convinced the judge to release Lewis to a residential mental health care facility in Billings as soon as a bed becomes available during a September hearing.
Lewis suffers from delusions and is under strict orders to continue a cocktail of medications to treat her mental illness.
But family members of the deceased worry that if Lewis isn't monitored closely, she could kill again.
"Everyone forgets who the victims are in this case. And we're just kind of swept under and we just want Judge Reynolds to know that he's the one responsible for what will happen to Diana." said Kelly Dolan.
Lewis killed her father, Rob Lewis and his new wife, Peggy Parmalee Lewis, by shooting them multiple times in their bed during a psychotic episode.
She made an Alford plea to two counts of mitigated deliberate homicide, and she has been in Warm Springs for the past 17 years.
Her original parole eligibility wasn't up until 2015.
