SANDPOINT, ID - Authorities have identified the woman who was killed overnight while she was walking along the railroad tracks in Northern Idaho.
Erin Likkel, 28, from Huntsville, Alabama was apparently walking along the tracks in Sandpoint when she was struck by a passing train just south of town, according to the Idaho State Police.
Investigators say Likkel's body was spotted by a BNSF train crew around 3 a.m. and they believe she may have been struck late Wednesday night, or early this morning.
She was apparently carrying luggage and is believed to have been walking along the tracks because there was no crossing in the vicinity of the accident.
