Wanda Denhalter of St. George, Utah, is lucky to be alive after a huge boulder crashed into her bedroom as she slept on Saturday.
Her husband Scot explained that the boulder "...rolled down into our bedroom, on my wife's side of the bed, crushed the bed, and hurt my wife."
Badly hurt and in shock, Wanda managed to find her phone and call 911.
Scot was at their son's home nearby when police found him, and when told that Wanda had been in an accident, thought that she had been in a car crash.
Wanda suffered a cracked sternum, a broken jaw, and a large gash, but is expected to recover.
Scot told KUTV that when they bought their home that lies beneath a ridge, he warned his wife that something like this could happen: "That ridge up there bothers me, you know, you could have a boulder snap and come down and go right through the house, and she said, ‘That would never happen.'"
