BOZEMAN - A woman is facing a felony theft charge after allegedly selling a local man more than $111,000 in fake diamonds.
Prosecutors say Georgia Cold,47, advertised that she had gems for sale on Craigslist. A Bozeman man responded to her ad and bought 70 items he thought were diamonds for over $89,560. He then purchased 17 more objects for $22,230.
According to court papers, the victim soon realized the items were not diamonds, but Moissanites, which look similar but are a fraction of the cost.
Cold will appear in court in September to answer to the theft charge.
