KALISPELL - It was a devastating sight for many residents in and around Kalispell on Sunday morning as more than 70 vehicles were vandalized after an early morning drive-by shooting. According to reports, at least one window to a home was shot out as well.
The vandals caused tens of thousands of dollars in damages after they shot out windows with BB guns sometime between 4:30 a.m. and 7 a.m.
Police tell us there are between 70 and 80 vehicles damaged, but say they believe more people may come forward with reports of damage to their property over the next few days.
One homeowner who found a card from the Kalispell Police Department on his windshield, noticed his truck's broken window - as well as the broken windows of several other cars in the area.
"It's just sad because we live here in Kalispell, and you think 'oh we're in a safe neighborhood, we're on the east side or even on the west side.' It's just stupid. It's sad because I park my car on the street thinking it's safe, but yet it's not, so it's frustrating," Richard Evans said.
Police say the vehicle believed to have been involved was described as having a loud exhaust. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kalispell Police Department at (406) 758.7780.
