BUTTE - The man who is accused of shooting a Butte man earlier this month now faces a felony deliberate homicide charge.
Authorities filed the charge against Jeffery Lackman, 34, of Whitehall earlier this week. He is being charged with the death of Mark Partelow, 46.
Court documents state Lackman allegedly shot Partelow in the face with a 9 millimeter handgun the evening of Aug. 5. Partelow was taken to St. James Healthcare, but died upon arrival.
Documents go on to reveal that Lackman left the scene in a car driven by Juan Romero. The pair were stopped by the Montana Highway Patrol near Roundup two days later.
Romero, 28, faces felony counts of deliberate homicide by accountability and tampering with physical evidence.
Both men are in jail and are scheduled to be arraigned later this month.
