UPDATE: Officials are working to rescue a woman who is in the Jefferson River pinned against one of pillars of a bridge that crosses the river south of Silver Star.
We have a reporter on scene and will provide more details as we receive them.
Emergency crews are responding to a swift water rescue on the Jefferson River in Madison County about 16 miles south of Whitehall.
The incident is taking place at the Silver Star Bridge, Gallatin County Undersheriff Dan Springer said.
At around 3:45 p.m., Gallatin County Search and Rescue crews were preparing to respond to the incident to assist Madison County, Gallatin County Sheriff Brian Gootkin said. Gallatin County crews are responding with a helicopter and boats.
