According to Gallatin County Sheriff's Department, one skier and one snowboarder, both in their late teens to early twenties, were coming down Wolverine, a run on the north edge of Bridger Bowl, when they went out of bounds, and got stuck in an area of deep powder Saturday afternoon.

Sheriff's deputies received a call from Bridger Bowl around roughly 5:30 p.m. that the two had not checked in with friends. Ski Patrol was sent out to traverse the area where the two were thought to be.

One of the lost skiers was allegedly able to get text messages and a short phone call out to friends in Bozeman, who relayed their approximate position to authorities.

According to friends, the two did not report any injuries. Gallatin County Sheriff's Deputy Brandon Kelly says caution should be exercised when recreating outdoors, especially in the winter.
