BUTTE - Law enforcement are still on the hunt for a man accused of shooting and robbing a woman Thursday night.
Butte Silver Bow Sheriff Ed Lester said the male suspect tried to rob Mining City Tax at 227 E. Front Street around 7:20 p.m. The man reportedly shot at a female employee several times, hitting her twice in the leg and once in the hip.
The injured woman remains hospitalized at St. James Healthcare and family members say she is undergoing surgery Friday morning.
Lester said the victim was shot outside the taxi service office.
Surveillance video shows the man wearing a camouflage jacket and some type of hard hat or helmet. He also appears to be hiding his face with a scarf or piece of fabric.
