UPDATE: Rail cars carrying corn tip in Livingston

UPDATE: Four train cars derailed in Livingston, spilling corn on the tracks.

It happened Wednesday night shortly before midnight. Three of the cars tipped over near the Northern Pacific Beanery on West Park Street in downtown Livingston, spilling dried corn all over the track.

This morning, crews were busy trying to scoop up all the corn and clear the track. By this afternoon, the cars were removed as well as all the corn.

The derailment is under investigation.

No one was hurt.


LIVINGSTON - Corn is covering the railroad tracks in Livingston this morning.

A BNSF Railway car that was carrying corn tipped, spilling its load all over the tracks just behind the Northern Pacific Beanery on West Park Street.

A derailment cleanup crew is on scene this morning, working to remove the corn from the tracks. They are using bulldozers to help haul it away.
