UPDATE: Man stabbed in stable condition, no arrest made

A Butte man who suffered a stab wound Sunday evening remains in the hospital, according to the Butte-Silver Bow Police Department.

On Sunday authorities responded to 1819 Florida Ave on a report of a stabbing. Authorities said there was an altercation between two men at the residence. The men knew each other and the fight resulted in one man stabbing the other in his left arm.

A first responder said the 44-year-old victim had a deep wound and was losing a lot of blood. The victim was transported to St. James Healthcare. Today he is in stable condition at the hospital.

Authorities are waiting to question the victim. No arrest has been made and the incident remains under investigation.
