UPDATE: Fire department declares arson at trailer home fire

BUTTE - The Butte-Silver Bow Fire Department declared arson at the site of a trailer home fire that occurred on Monday.

The trailer home at 2901 Elm Street was a rental. The family was in the process of being evicted, according to the Butte-Silver Bow Fire Department. Most of their belongings were being stored in a neighbor's yard.

The fire started just after 1 p.m., quickly engulfing the trailer. It took 10 minutes for fire fighters to contain the blaze. Fire fighters said the fire started in the front of the trailer.

A joint investigation is underway between the fire department and law enforcement to determine the cause of the fire.
