MISSOULA - University of Montana's Vice President for Administration and Finance died Wednesday.
Robert Duringer served UM for 12 years and was planning to retire at the end of December.
A text alert that UM President Royce Engstrom sent to the campus on Thursday morning says Duringer served in the U.S. Army, reaching the rank of colonel.
He worked at the West Point Academy, Oregon State University and the University of Maine prior prior to coming to the University of Montana in 2000.
During his time at UM, Duringer was responsible for overseeing tremendous growth of the campus infrastructure as well as effectively overseeing the Adams Center, Business Services, Facilities Services, Human Resource Services, the Montana Island Lodge, Public Safety and the Office of Planning, Budget and Analysis.
Engstrom went on to say Duringer was tremendously proud of his work, his colleagues and his many contributions to the University.
There's no word yet on services.
