BILLINGS - Montana U.S. Attorney Michael Cotter and other top law enforcement officials are holding a press conference at this hour, to outline details on the recent indictment of 12 people on charges of operating a major drug ring in the Bakken oil fields.
The federal indictment unsealed earlier this week, alleges the drug ring involved a network of couriers across Montana to distribute pure methamphetamine in eastern Montana and North Dakota.
Court documents allege the drug ring operated in Sidney, Fairview, Billings, Big Timber, Columbus, Livingston and Bozeman and started in April of last year.
All 12 of the defendants pleaded not guilty to the drug and weapons charges in federal court Tuesday.
