BILLINGS- According to the Montana Highway Patrol, two people were killed on a highway in Big Horn County Friday night when their vehicles collided head-on.
A 55-year-old woman from Lodge Grass who was driving a Nissan Sentra was heading southbound on Montana Secondary Highway 451, south of Lodge Grass, when she attempted to pass a vehicle ahead of her.
While passing, the Sentra collided head-on with a Honda Accord heading northbound that was being driven by a 58-year-old man from Belgrade.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the woman had a 4-year-old boy in the Sentra with her who was not buckled in to his seat.
The boy sustained serious injuries and was transported to Indian Health Services for treatment.
Highway patrol says the woman died on scene before they arrived.
The driver of the Honda Accord was taken by ambulance from the crash site to Billings where he later died at St. Vincent's Healthcare.
Speed was determined to be a factor in the crash
