WROC News 8 - Four firefighters have been shot and two of them have died in Webster, a suburb of Rochester, New York.

Police are searching for a suspect who fired on firefighters responding to a fire on Lake Road in Webster early Monday morning. Fire Marshal Rob Boutillier says there are three firefighters shot.

Strong Hospital confirms that two firefighters are being treated there in connection with the shooting. At least one of those firefighters is in satisfactory condition after being shot in the lower body.

Firefighters are currently letting the fire burn because the scene is not secure. At least three houses are engulfed in flames, along with one vehicle, according to firefighters.

Police have an armored truck in the area, and SWAT is also on scene. Mercy Flight has made multiple trips to the area.
