HELENA - Kristin Kane Keller, a transient found camping in his car, has been charged with resisting arrest and possession of dangerous drugs.
Keller, 47 years old, is also a suspect in the case of a missing gun.
On Sunday night a deputy was called out to a campground at Canyon Ferry at around 11:00, where someone reported a 9-millimeter gun and several rounds of ammo missing from their tent.
A Sheriff's deputy found Keller, who had two outstanding warrants, along with visible marijuana plants.
Keller was arrested and charged with two misdemeanors, but may be cited for more charges.
Lewis & Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton said, "We did impound the vehicle because we have reason to believe that the 9-millimeter is possibly or is alleged to be in that vehicle. So we've applied for a search warrant with the County Attorney's office and when we get the search warrant we will conduct a search and we're in hopes of finding that weapon."
Dutton says Keller is also wanted for felony bail jumping and failure to appear in court.
Dutton reminds gun owners to keep their firearms in a safe place under lock and key.
