TOWNSEND - Residents of Townsend gathered on Saturday night to remember Dakota Kimbrough.
The Broadwater High School football player died in a car crash on Friday afternoon, just hours before the homecoming football game.
Three of his teammates were injured in the crash; they were treated and released for their injuries.
On Saturday night at Fandrich Field, scores of people gathered to pay their respects to Kimbrough and to remember that the football field was where he loved to be.
Students, staff, and community members stood before the goal post on the field and said goodbye to their friend.
Counselors were available over the weekend for students and staff and will be on hand when school resumes on Monday.
