On Friday, Attorney General- Elect Tim Fox (R) announced five appointments to the Montana Department of Justice.
Scott Darkenwald will serve as Fox's Chief of Staff. Darkenwald worked as the Director of the Department of Administration under Montana Governor Judy Martz.
Fox also appointed Mark Mattioli as Chief Deputy Attorney General. Mattioli worked as an Assistant Attorney General under Steve Bullock, Mike McGrath and Joe Mazurek.
Fox also appointed Lawrence VanDyke as Solicitor General, Jon Bennion as Deputy Attorney General and Julie James as his Executive Assistant.
"Scott, Mark, Lawrence, Jon, and Julie will bring considerable legal and administrative experience to the Department of Justice and will serve the people of Montana well," said Fox. "I am looking forward to working with them as we strive to improve public safety, defend Montana's sovereignty, and grow Montana's economy."
By law, the Attorney General can appoint up to 15 positions. More appointments will be announced soon.
