MISSOULA - Police arrested three people in connection witha series of church break-ins in the last month.

Two men and one woman are in custody in connection to eight church burglaries and two residential break-ins.

One church was broken into twice, while Blessed Trinity Catholic Church was broken into three times, most recently this week. Blessed Trinity staff found knives stuck in the walls and ceiling tiles. The burglars also shredded Christmas wrapping paper and stole presents.

Missoula detective Travis Welsh says they followed up on many leads, tracking them to the three suspects.

"Just this week we have been able to do that and identify three people and begin to focus on them and that focus has lead to the arrest as well as the recovery of property that has connected them to these burglaries."

The three suspects are expected to appear in court next week. Their names will be released when they are formally charged.
