BOZEMAN - A third woman arrested for promoting prostitution in Belgrade pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge of prostitution as part of a plea agreement in Gallatin County District Court.
Ok Nan Tennette, 70, received a similar plea deal as other two women in Belgrade prostitution cases.
After pleading guilty to prostitution, through a Korean translator, Tenette told the judge, "I didn't have money so I did it."
In court Tuesday morning, defense attorney Eric Brewer said owners of the spas are being investigated for possible human trafficking, and that the FBI agent he spoke with classified Tennette as a victim.
Tenette, along with Jihong Yu, 51 and Yu-Sun Gasperi, 52, were arrested in July after a confidential informant went into two Belgrade spas and was reportedly offered sexual favors in exchange for money.
The case involved the Beijing Spa and VIP Spa on South Broadway in Belgrade. Since the three women were arrested, the massage parlors have been closed. Court documents indicate the women were living at the businesses as well.
Neighbors told us they became suspicious when they started seeing only men going in and out of the spas.
According to police records, Yu was reportedly the proprietor of the Beijing Spa. During a search at that spa at 309 South Broadway, police found used condoms made of cellophane food wrap in the outside garbage.
Tenette and Gasperi were reportedly living at the VIP Spa at 107 South Broadway. Police reportedly found condoms hidden near the front desk of the business as well as money hidden between the pages of books on the front counter.
