KALISPELL - Senator Jon Tester met with city representatives Wednesday morning to discuss various issues affecting the Flathead.
Some brought up the Highway 93 bypass as an important project for Kalispell.
A council member also raised concerns over President Obama's gun control measures, which could impact the Flathead, saying several gun manufacturers who build AR-15s and similar guns call this area home and provide many local jobs.
Concerns over health care, education and historic preservation were also discussed.
Sen. Tester said the greatest concern he heard from city representatives was for the economy and local infrastructure.
"You know as we get budgets in the country that are getting smaller, there's always a concern about 'Is there going to be any revenue there for the building of infrastructure?' and the bypass is a big issue here."
The Senator also discussed the Keystone Pipeline, saying he's in full support.
