Kaleb Kuebler, the Great Falls teenager who allegedly raped and beat an 11-year old girl in October, is standing trial for another offense that he allegedly committed while in custody.
Kuebler, 16, is being tried on an aggravated assault charge for allegedly getting into a fist-fight with another juvenile.
Kuebler was charged in November for reportedly raping an 11-year old girl and will go to trial for that case in September.
Kuebler pleaded not guilty to the charges in the rape case, but opted to be tried as an adult.
After nearly two months in custody, Kuebler and another boy fought, and Kuebler is now being tried as a juvenile for the aggravated assault.
Jury selection for this case wrapped up on Monday morning, and opening arguments began on Monday afternoon.
The trial is expected to take two days.
