SAND COULEE - One week after Sand Coulee teenager Jacob Romanchuk was killed in a tragic accident, he was honored as his teammates returned to the hardwood.
The Centerville Miners recognized Romanchuk during the Junior High Boys Basketball Tournament which tipped off on Thursday afternoon.
Fans packed the Montana School for the Deaf & Blind with signs and shirts reading "Team Jacob" and the number 23.
Romanchuk was a starter for the Miners junior high program.
The 14-year-old died after falling out of a moving pickup truck last Thursday.
His teammates honored the 8th grader by placing his jersey on their bench.
