HELENA - The Lewis & Clark County Sheriff's Department was able to a question a suspect in the alleged sexual assault reported Friday afternoon near the Mini-Basket on Canyon Ferry Road near Helena.
The call came in around 2:30 p.m. Friday. The suspect was described as an Asian male in his late-teens to early 20's.
Sheriff Leo Dutton said that they were able to locate the suspect with the help of citizens and that the suspect cooperated with the investigation.
"At this point, we have not made an arrest. He will be in the area, we're going to confer with the county attorney's office on Monday whether charges should be filed or not. Sometimes during an investigation you uncover different information that you knew. You need to get both sides of the story," Dutton said.
The sheriff thanked the community for their tips, which helped his department apprehend the suspect.
