BOZEMAN -The housing market in Montana is strong. That is if you believe a recent study put out by credit.com. The survey shows Montana is the nation's sixth best housing market.

According to the credit.com report, Montana's housing market has turned. Delinquencies are low and Montanans have good credit scores.

Robyn Erlenbush with ERA Landmark Real Estate in Bozeman says she has seen a lot of improvement in the market. She also notes the fact that there is a very low foreclosure and shadow inventory rate in Montana.

Erlenbush credits some of Montana's housing growth to the Bakken oil boom in the east. The boom translates to jobs; jobs translate to desire to buy housing.

An interesting note about the list is that the top six states are all northern states. North Dakota topped the list, followed by Minnesota. South Dakota and New Hampshire tied for third. Nebraska finished just ahead of Montana.
