Story Mansion deal falls through

Friends of the story mansion announce that their plans to buy the mansion have fallen through.

In a letter dated February 21st, Board of Director Chairman Andy Epple announced that wind-energy Corporation Exergy will not be able to front the over $390,000 needed to buy the mansion outright. Friends of the Story mansion was granted a six month extension to buy the mansion by the city commission this past September. Now, they're asking for more time, proposing a six year plan to buy the mansion in installments, saying they can contribute $30,000 annually toward the overall cost.

City officials have no comment at this time.
