St. James Healthcare staff is helping diabetics stay in control of their disease.
The Diabetes Lunch and Learn series has started up again at the healthcare center.
Diabetics learn about portion sizes and how different types of food and beverages affect diabetes.
Anaconda resident Joanne Dryden is a type 2 diabetic and says the session helps keep her diet in tip top shape and stay in control.
"Just reminders are really terrific and I find myself implementing more. The more education, the more support you have the more you're likely to implement the good things," she says.
The Diabetes Lunch and Learn will continue on the last Wednesday of every month.
A $4.00 lunch provided by the hospital is optional.
