LIBBY- Fire officials put out a small fire in the Souse Gulch day use area on Lake Koocanusa over the weekend, but some areas remain closed to the public.
The blaze was reported Friday evening and forced officials to close Souse Gulch to the public until 4 p.m. Sunday while crews tackled the fire.
About 1.5 acres burned. Officials said the area around picnic shelter one down to the shoreline are still closed to the public.
People can still access to the floating dock, but a couple of holes on the disc golf course are closed until cleanup from the fire is complete.
U.S. Forest Service firefighters and a helicopter managed to put out the fire, which officials believe was human-caused.
