Skeletal human remains unearthed in Kalispell

Skeletal human remains were unearthed Friday in Kalispell.

Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry told Montana's News Station that a homeowner was in the process of excavating for a pond when he came across the remains.

Curry said photos of the bones were taken and sent to the State Medical Examiner who identified them as being Native American.

The Montana Historical Society was contacted about the find and Curry said he is now in contact with tribal leaders about the next steps for dealing with the remains.
