BUTTE - Election officials at the Butte Civic Center say this is the biggest turnout they've seen.
Chris Ackerman has been working as an election officials for several years. He says he has never seen so many people go to the polls to vote.
People were lined up outside the Butte Civic Center to cast their ballot since 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Ackerman says the line hasn't slowed down since.
He also says this is the biggest turnout of younger voters in an election he has worked.
"Young people are coming out in droves and that is really encouraging for our country. I think there's an enormous amount at stake and everybody knows that, everybody's out here to do their right and vote," says Ackerman.
He and several other election officials will be working the polls until late this evening.
