UPDATE: A shot has been fired at police as a standoff on Missoula's northside continues.
Our reporter on the scene reports a single shot was fired at around 2 p.m. from inside the home, and it hit the Armored Rescue Vehicle that is on the scene at a trailer home on Cooley Street.
Missoula Police report the incident began around 6:30 a.m. on Monday when the suspect allegedly hit someone.
That person called police, and when they responded to the scene, the man in the trailer home refused to come out and talk with officers.

The standoff with police is continuing on the northside of Missoula.
The incident began on Cooley Street near Burns Street just after 8 a.m., with police saying a man refused to come out of a trailer home, and that a woman was in the home with him.
Police broke a back window and threw a phone inside the home, and say they are now in contact with the man inside.
Authorities add that the female in the residence is said to be okay.

MISSOULA - The Missoula Police Department is dealing with a man who is refusing to come out of his northside trailer.
Captain Crish Odlin says that a man inside a trailer near the intersection of Colley and Burns streets is refusing to meet with officers, and may have a woman inside the home with him.
Numerous police units are on scene, including the Special Operations Unit, as negotiators attempt to make contact with the man. Odlin tells MTN that police are trying to get a phone to the man so he can talk with police.
Cooley Street is closed between Byron and Burns at this time. We'll have more information as it becomes available.
