GREAT FALLS - The Great Falls Police Department is speaking out on what it says was the first sting operation of its kind in the Electric City.
The sting resulted in charges being filed against five men last week: Edward Burk Dupuis; Zachary Beston; Perry Gamache; Albert Stuart Ross; and Miguel F. Gardipee.
The five men arrested on charges of sexual abuse of children after Great Falls detectives and Homeland Security agents posted online ads, saying they were searching for men to teach a 12 year old girl how to be a woman.
Officers say the investigation involved 10 agencies including federal, state, and local law enforcement.
Great Falls Police Chief Dave Bowen said that the sting served two purposes: first, to arrest people who seem to harm children, and second, to put on notice anyone else who might consider harming children; Bowen said, "We will find you, we will arrest you, and you will go to jail."
Chief Bowen says this not the last sting operation they plan to do.
