Winter Storm WARNINGS covers all of SW Montana tonight through 11 p.m. Friday. Snowfall estimates are very high with this event, 8"-12" for the valleys and 2'-3' over the mountains.

Strong northerly winds 20 to 30 mph will produce blowing and drifting snow with reduced visibilities under a half mile at times.

Rain could change to snow this evening and lead to extremely icy roadways.

Temperatures will drop dramatically by Friday morning and could possibly fall below zero.

Significant amounts of snow is likely and that will make travel dangerous. Only travel if it is an emergency!

Chief Meteorologist Mike Heard will have an update on this serious winter storm tonight at 5:30pm and 10pm on KBZK and KXLF.
