A semi-truck caught fire traveling west on Interstate 90 nearly 20 miles out of Butte on Thursday. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the vehicle before it reached the trailer full of paper it was carrying.
The driver said he saw smoke and he pulled over to look under the hood. When he reached the shoulder of the road the vehicle was consumed by flames. He said he had no time to recover any of his personal belongings.
Traffic was slowed on the interstate for more than an hour, according to Montana Highway Patrol. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
