Rollover kills 2 people near Fort Belknap

GREAT FALLS - A one-vehicle rollover accident on the Fort Belknap Indian reservation has killed two people.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Friday just after midnight near Snake Butte Road and Timber Ridge.

The driver was traveling north, failed to negotiate a left hand turn and rolled into a ditch on the east side of the road.

FIve people were in the vehicle and three were ejected.

Two of the people ejected, a male and a female, are dead; the third was taken by Mercy Flight helicopter to Benefis hospital in Great Falls with life-threatening injuries.

The other two passengers were taken to Indian Health Services.

Authorities have not yet released the names of any of the people involved and say the crash remains under investigation.
