MISSOULA - A Rimrock Stages bus caught on fire in Missoula Tuesday afternoon, but no one was injured in the mishap.

The incident happened just after 12 p.m. near St. Patrick Hospital. A passenger tells us the Billings-bound bus crossed some railroad tracks when the motor caught on fire.

"There was kind of a pop in the back and the next thing you know the bus driver is pulling over saying there's smoke coming out. And by the time we got off the bus, it was burning pretty good, you could see the flames. So everyone got off the waited for the fire trucks," said passenger Nathan Yoder, who was on his way to Billings.

The Missoula Fire Department responded to the scene and sprayed foam to put out the blaze. The passengers had to load their luggage into the back of a pickup truck, so it could be taken back to the bus station.

We're still waiting to hear back from Rimrock Stages and the Missoula Fire Department about what exactly happened and we'll have more details as soon as they become available to us.
