MISSOULA - A $2,000 reward is now being offered up to help find out who poached a cow moose last week northeast of Avon, after public donations helped bump up the reward from the original $1,000.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks game warden Joe Kambic says that the moose was poached Monday, Feb. 18 near Carpenter and Ophir Creeks. The moose had evidence of multiple gunshot wounds from a small-caliber rifle.

Anyone with information about the poaching is asked to call 1.800.TIP.MONT.
