KALISPELL- A report released by the Samaritan House says for the last six years, the city has averaged about 500 homeless people annually.

Based off of those statistics, the Samaritan House is only able to help 13% of the homeless population.

Executive Director Chris Krager says as the homelessness rate continues to increase, the available resources decrease.

Krager says the recent report is a way to raise awareness, and hopefully solicit help from community members.

"A direct short-term solution is to let people know the numbers behind homelessness, how many people are homeless, and connect people to resources that are currently available."
