BUTTE - Record crowds attended the Montana Folk Festival this weekend, according to lead organizer George Everett.
All parking that was available was full, Everett said. Vendors sold everything they had. Organizers will calculate how much local commerce was generated from the festival.
Aerial shots were taken of the crowds on Saturday to count how many people attended. Numbers should be released this week.
The Montana Folk Festival had a record year in 2010, Everett said. About 160,000 people attended. This year's festival topped those numbers.
"By how much we are not exactly sure, but this was a record year," Everett said "This was the biggest, the best, the most fantastic festival we've had so far."
Organizers are going to take a few days off and then immediately start prepping for Montana Folk Festival 2014, already set for July 11, 12 and 13.
