Powell Tribune: Speer confessed to Cody abduction and assault

BILLINGS- According to the Powell Tribune, the man charged with kidnapping and assaulting an 11-year-old girl in Cody, Wyoming last month confessed to the crime shortly after his arrest in Belgrade, Montana.

The Powell Tribune now has an affidavit from the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office which the agency had used to obtain a search warrant of Speer's home in Manhattan, Montana.

The Powell Tribune says Speer admitted to the crimes over the course of two interviews with Bozeman police and other law enforcement agents.

According to the paper, the statements made closely match those given by the girl who was assaulted.
