MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) Police have found a 2-year-old boy and his mother in Butte after they say his mother took him without permission from the Missoula rehabilitation center where she was being treated.
Missoula police Lt. Steve Brester said Monday the boy, Ian Rondeau, and his mother, Chandra Rondeau, were fine. Brester had no immediate details on how police found them or whether anybody else was with them.
Ian Rondeau is a ward of the state who was staying with his mother in the Carole A. Graham Home in Missoula. The home is a long-term addiction treatment center for women with their children.
Brester says officials at the home discovered the mother and child missing after midnight. Police said earlier they believed Chandra Rondeau's boyfriend, 50-year-old Patrick Thomas Shea, may have been traveling with them.
