Mountain pine beetles are forcing a campground to close because of safety issues.
The Spillway Campground is closed due to falling trees.
The campground is located in the East Fork Reservoir of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. It will remain closed until the effected trees are removed by professional sawyers.
The East Fork, Flint Creek, Copper Creek and Georgetown Lake campsites are still OK to use.
Spillway Campground will be included in a hazard tree removal project.
The wood will be given to a local mill.
