FORT SMITH, MT - Phillips 66 says it shut down its pipeline on the Crow Indian Reservation, less than five minutes after detecting a leak.
On Tuesday, Q2 reported that a pipeline leaked on private property close to Fort Smith.
This news is according to the Crow Tribal Chair Darrin Old Coyote.
Phillips 66 puts the location as 15 miles southwest of Lodge Grass.
The pictures you are seeing on your screen is the area the day after the leak.
The company's control center, located in Oklahoma, detected the leak on the Seminoe Pipeline.
That pipeline transports gasoline and diesel, from Billings to Wyoming, Utah and Colorado.
Crews had to excavate to get to the pipeline.
The company Estimates less 600 barrels or about 25,000 gallons of gasoline leaked.
The Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Transportation's Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration are still on scene.
