The pedestrian hit by a car Friday evening in Butte died at a Great Falls hospital Monday evening.
Butte Coroner Lee LaBreche identified the victim as John Hollander. LaBreche said he didn't have an age on Hollander and described him as a "transient" who was temporarily staying in Butte at the time of the accident.
Hollander was struck by a car while crossing Harrison Avenue near the Butte Civic Center about 8 p.m. He was treated at St. James HealthCare in Butte in critical condition, before being transported to Benefis Hospital in Great Falls.
Butte police undersheriff George Skuletich said the driver of the car hasn't been charged as of Tuesday, because the incident was still under investigation. Police are still awaiting the results of a blood test taken on the driver to determine if there was any alcohol in the driver's system at the time of the accident.
