KALISPELL - Authorities have released the name of the man who died after a boating accident on Foys Lake.
Lance Joseph Deglow, 49, of Kalispell died after a boat he was on capsized in the area of North Foys Lake Road at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry said.
Deglow, his wife, two children and a dog were in a 12-foot aluminum boat about 40 to 50 feet from shore when the mishap occurred.
Deglow's wife reports that they were about 25 feet away from shore when he suddenly went unresponsive in the water and she had to bring him to shore.
CPR was started immediately, which continued when medical personnel arrived on the scene, but the resuscitation efforts failed.
Deglow's wife reports he was a strong swimmer and that he was helping her swim to shore when he became unresponsive.
It's not known at this time if the death was the result of a medical event or drowning. An autopsy has been scheduled. The Flathead County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death.
