New Jersey Governor Chris Christie to campaign for Rehberg in Billings

BILLINGS - A high profile Republican will be heading to Montana in October to campaign for Congressman Denny Rehberg.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will appear at a fundraiser Friday Oct. 5 at the Holiday Inn. Christie was elected governor of New Jersey in 2009 but has quickly established himself a leader in the party. Congressman Rehberg's campaign announced today the reception begins at 6:15 p.m. and the cost to attend is $250 per person.

Rehberg spokesman Chris Bond said they are looking forward to bringing Christie to Billings.

"We're excited to have Governor Christie join us in Montana to support Denny as we enter the home stretch in this critical Senate race. Like Denny, Chris Christie knows that to create jobs and get our economy back on track, we've got to get Washington's excessive taxes, spending and red tape off the backs of our job creators, and that's what this election is all about," Bond said.
