MISSOULA - Good beer and warm hearts put $4,000 in the coffers of the Missoula Food Bank.
The Garden City Community Brew is a new joint project between local taverns and Missoula's four brewerie. Together they created a limited amount of a unique beer with the sales going towards the food bank.
Members of the Missoula County Tavern Association, and others, presented a check and got a tour of the facility Wednesday, and say they are excited to keep this unique fundraiser moving forward.
"They hope to do this twice a year and hope to create a summer brew and hope more taverns get on board so they can get the donations to go up," Missoula County Tavern Association Vice President Trent Sinclair said.
The first brew, a black IPA, will be tapped in select taverns in Missoula on Friday.
