GREAT FALLS - A new tool is now available to help Montanans stay in touch with their state lawmakers during the legislative session.
A legislative guide is printed every session that includes legislator's phone numbers and their communities, but this year a digital form is also offered in the form of an app.
The ability to search through committees, counties and people helps finding legislator's information much easier.
"The whole point of this app and the guide itself is to allow constituents to have easy access to their legislators, so that the legislators know what the people they are representing want, so they can make the most informed decision," explained Ryan Hall of the Montana Electric Cooperatives' Association, which developed the app.
The app costs $1.99 and is available on Apple and Android devices as well as tablets; just search for "Montana Legislative Directory" in the respective app store.
The directory listing in the Google Play store states: "A digital, interactive directory of the Montana Legislature. Quickly find contact, staff, and committee information for both houses of the Montana Legislature, featuring one-touch contacts for all legislators."
There is also a free web-based contact form on the Montana Legislature website that people can use to send messages to lawmakers. Click here to visit the site.
