GREAT FALLS - The community is rallying around the Boys and Girls Club after the facility was ransacked and burglarized over the weekend.
Several organizations and residents have pitched in to donate items, offer their services and contribute money.
"It was so devastating, so sickening to see that. The overwhelming feeling of just feeling like a victim and feeling it on behalf of the staff and the kids. It was just overwhelming," Sonya Smith, the director of the club, said.
Items were thrown everywhere; the club's video game consoles, games, and hundreds of dollars had been stolen; one of their vans had been taken and left near Stuckey Road and the rest of the van keys are gone.
But now, that devastation is turning to thankfulness after many heard of the destruction, as donations pour in.
Great Falls Police say that they do not yet have any suspects or leads in the crime, and anyone with tips should call (406) 771.1180.
